In the Province of Ontario, if you are a driver who has been charged with impaired driving, stunt driving, or road rage or who currently has an extreme number of demerit points, the MTO or Traffic Court recommends that you take this course. The primary goal of the program is to enhance and improve your driving performance on the road to achieve greater community safety.

Driver Improvement Course
If you are facing charges for impaired driving, excessive speeding, stunt driving, careless driving, road rage, or have accumulated a high number of demerit points, you have come to the right place. This course is available to drivers in Toronto, Scarborough, Markham, Stouffville, and the Greater Toronto areas. It is designed to improve your driving performance and enhance your attitude. Upon completing the course, you will receive an official certificate that can be submitted to your lawyer or paralegal.

Offered by the Canadian Academy of Defensive Driving, the Driver Improvement Course in Toronto increases drivers’ performance by focusing on participant attitudes. Specific attitudinal aspects of driving are discussed and taught to raise the level of understanding. By first helping you understand, we can then take you through our detailed course, whose primary goal is to help you change your problematic attitude on the road to one that is intelligent, safe, defensive, positive, considerate, and reliable.

Course focus
Throughout this course, you will be exposed to new and innovative defensive driving tactics, danger identification guidelines, the rules of the road, and risk management. Upon course completion, you will receive an MTO-recognized certificate that can be sent directly to your lawyer or paralegal as you work towards improving your driving record.

Course Requirements
- 18+ years of age
- Recommended and referred by the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario, the Provincial Court or a member of the Law Society of Ontario
- As of April 1, 2022, drivers convicted of stunt driving must complete a driver improvement course (such as this one) within 60 days. -
Course Structure
This is a two-part course:
