Have you passed your G1 Exam?

Are you seeking the proper training to prepare for your G2 road test? The Canadian Academy of Defensive Driving (CADD) offers this MTO-approved Beginner Driver Education (BDE) program for drivers who are new to the road and are committed to starting their driving career with optimal safety and skill.

Package Options

CADD offers three different BDE course packages in Toronto. All packages include 20 hours of online theory training, which can be completed in 4 days or two weekends, whichever is more convenient for you. MTO-approved Driver Training

Our BDE course, offered by our driving school in Toronto, Scarborough, North York, Markham, Richmond Hill, Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, and Stouffville, is approved by the MTO and involves a combination of online and in-car instruction. Upon completing this course, you can arrange your G2 road test up to four months earlier than the date you would have been eligible without this course.

BDE course graduates will receive a completion certificate that entitles them to an insurance discount of 21-41%!

Course focus

BDE is a comprehensive driver training course designed to prepare you mentally and physically for safe driving on the road. The program consists of online learning, in-vehicle teaching, and homework assignments that must be completed on time. Many topics are covered, including road rules, vehicle components, vehicle handling, driver behaviour, perception, risk management, sharing the road with others, and respect and responsibility as a driver.

Skills Learned

In this course, you will be taught various theory and in-vehicle teaching topics.

The material emphasizes road safety and helps students prepare for their road tests online. Built around the MTO Driver’s Handbook, strategic driving skills are taught through several approaches, including video presentations and online discussions.

In the vehicle, a competent and highly trained driving instructor accompanies you in the passenger seat. They provide guidance and reinforce the rules of the road so that you may become a confident and safer driver. Your driving lessons are tailored to your needs, and you are encouraged to ask questions freely. You’ll learn how to parallel park, read road signs, use your mirrors while changing lanes, handle rights-of-way, and more.
